Swatchbox Technologies Announces the New Social Networking-enhanced Personal Color Viewer 3.0 for Benjamin Moore

BOSTON, September 9, 2009 – Swatchbox Technologies, the most innovative player in virtual design tools for the home,  has completed its fifth virtual painting tool for Benjamin Moore, one of North America’s leading paint and color authorities and a client of Swatchbox since 2002.

The new and improved Personal Color Viewer 3.0 comes at a time in the economy where homeowners are more likely to invest in their current homes, rather than in new ones.  With the Personal Color Viewer, Benjamin Moore’s website visitors can easily upload a photo of a room or exterior that they want to update, mask off (similar to highlighting) the appropriate areas for painting, and begin experimenting with different colors.  All of this can be done without leaving their home, spending any money on samples or supplies, or worrying if the color they bought will match the furniture.
“When Benjamin Moore approached Swatchbox about further improving their Personal Color Viewer, we knew we had to make it stand out from all of their previous tools.  We brainstormed with them and really tried to figure out what the consumer wanted,” said Mike Brunzell, co-founder and senior vice president of sales and marketing.
The Personal Color Viewer 3.0 is more sophisticated and interactive than ever before.  In addition to users being able to upload, mask and paint their own images, they will have an overall better user experience, access to a greater variety of sample images, and a bonus social networking feature.

The enhanced user experience includes a new drag and drop feature that enables a user to drag a paint color from the Virtual Fan Deck to the actual surface within the image that they want to paint.
Once a user has started a project, they can easily print and email their project or simply save it and revisit it later by registering with the site.

A new share feature allows the user to share their work with friends and family through social networking sites like Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter.

Swatchbox Technologies’ creative software design combined with Benjamin Moore’s high quality products and innovative nature continues to be a formula for success.
