ei software Announces Name Change
to Swatchbox Technologies;
Jesse Engle Named Vice President
of Business Development

April 3, 2006 - ei software, a leader in home design software tools, announced today that it has changed its name to Swatchbox Technologies, Inc. and has expanded its executive management team to include a new role, Vice President of Business Development.

The new name reflects the company’s focus on the home design market as well as the increasing importance of the Internet as a distribution channel.

“The name, Swatchbox Technologies, captures the fun, interactive nature of our tools as well as the vast number of home design options that may be explored,” said company president Andy Jenks.

The company has experienced tremendous growth since its founding over ten years ago by electronic imaging experts Andy Jenks and Michael Brunzell. Beginning with house paint, and then expanding into all major interior and exterior home design product categories, the company has developed proprietary techniques to allow products to be rendered realistically in digital photos of homes. The benefit is that homeowners can explore and coordinate products visually before embarking on projects, reducing both the financial and social risks associated with home design decisions.

What makes the company unique is a focus on tools that allow homeowners to design and decorate using digital photos of their own homes. Up until now, that software has been delivered via CDROM. Products such as “Design My Room with Armstrong” and “Benjamin Moore Personal Color Viewer” are offered for sale at retail and online by the company’s manufacturer clients. Over a million copies have been sold.

Thanks to the dramatic adoption of high-speed Internet access along with the ever-increasing usage of and familiarity with the Internet, there is an opportunity to take the concept of designing with one’s own digital photos to the Web.

“Adding the Web as a distribution channel for our technology will allow more homeowners than ever to take advantage of the benefits of virtual home design and will create significant new partnership opportunities for us,” said Jenks. “That is why we have created the role Vice President of Business Development and have hired Jesse Engle to fill it. We’re excited to have Jesse join the team. He is a strategic thinker and relationship builder with a successful track record in Internet marketing and business development.”

Mr. Engle spent the last four years running Armstrong World Industries’ global eMarketing center of excellence. Under his leadership, Armstrong established a world-class website portfolio—serving 9 million visitors annually in more than 100 countries and 10 languages—that became a benchmark for the building products industry. Prior to Armstrong, Engle built the Branding & User Experience practice at eBusiness integrator Breakaway Solutions to a team of 75 brand strategy, web design and usability professionals across six offices throughout the US. He also served as VP Business Development for Conducent Technologies, a venture-funded Internet advertising company, establishing partnerships with Lycos, REUTERS, ZDNet and a host of software developers. Engle began his career as an Interactive Account Executive at CKS Group (later USWeb/CKS) and has led significant Web development initiatives for several Fortune 500 companies including Citibank, Prudential, Hershey Foods, The Wharton School, and Prentice Hall. Engle completed his undergraduate studies at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania where he concentrated in marketing and entrepreneurial management.
